Gel nails, French

Hey everyone.

Sorry about the massive gap since my last post. Last year was a crazy year for me. But after a long pause, I’m back.

I’ve recently started doing gel nails. Mainly, I do them myself, on myself.

The ones I have right now however, we’re made by a friend. Since I’m currently having some shoulder troubles and can’t manage to do them myself.

It’s a simple French manicure.

As you might know from earlier, this is my preferred style om nails. And I’m really happy with these.

I’ll show you the materials and colors I have in a post this coming week.

Until then.

Nails!

Oh, look. I’m back.

I’m on vacation from work now, so I finally have some time over for posting. Thought I’d begin with s nail post.
This is the first time I’ve used nailpolish since September due to my work.

I went with a French manicure, it’s my go to design and what I feel most comfortable in.
This pink hue is darker than I usually use, but I like it.

I’ll try uploading some more post during my vacation.

A warning

The Swedish Medical Products Agency
(the Food and Drug Administration in Sweden) have forbidden further sales of Depends Gel Nail kits, the same kit I own.

image

There have been cases where people have been getting allergic reaction in the form of wounds, blisters and cracks on their fingers and toes from using these kits. Even after using them several times without problems.

I won’t be using this kit again. I myself have noticed that my cuticles and the tips of the fingers have been really dry, which has resulted in itching leading to smaller wounds and the skin peeling. Due to the pictures I’ve seen of peoples reactions, my dry/flaky/lightly wounded fingers are a very light reaction, so I’m considering myself lucky. There will be some extra nailcare on my side until my fingers feel normal again.

Depend Gel Polish Nails

I was in town again today and picked up a purple gel polish instead, and decided to try using the kit to make nail extensions. The colour was different from the swatch at the store though. The last picture is the one that best shows the colour. The other ones are taken with a flash.

image

Before I began. This was the length and look of my nails. The first thing I did was glue on the tips.

image

I decided to keep the entire length of these tips since they are around the length I like to keep my nails.

You start with using the before/after cleaner to clean the nail do the gel will stick.

image

After that, add one picture of the base gel.

image

image

Cure in the lamp for 30 seconds.
Do 4 fingers and the thumb separately. I prefer finishing the fingers completely and then do the thumb.

image

Add two layers of colour gel, curing for 30 second each. This is after the second layer.

image

Then you add one coat of top gel and cure for 30 seconds again.

image

After that, use the.cleaning solution again to remove the sticky residue and bring out the shine.

image

After that, add cuticle oil. While having gel nails you should do that once a day.
This is the picture that best shows the colour and the result. The other pictures are lighter and shows that little edge from the tip way more than reality.

Remember that this kit is not made for doing extensions so if you do it you’re doing it at your own risk.

I’m having these on now as long as they’ll keep, or until the growing part gets ugly. I might add some gold polish or decorations for valentines though.

New purchases

Today these things entered my home.

A depend gel polish kit.
This contains a LED-lamp, before/after cleaning solution, base coat and top coat. And of course instructions. You need to buy remover and colours separately, so…

I got french white and french pink pearl as colours and also remover oil.

The results from this is supposed to last for 2-3 weeks, which is why I went with colours to make a french manicure since that always works.

There was 2 different removers, one where you wrap each nail in foil after applying the remover and this oil remover. I felt like the remover oil might be better for the nails and skin.

I’ll try this kit right away. I will take pictures, but I might wait with posting more about this kit until I’ve gotten the hang of it and know how long it’ll hold.
