Window Number 18 – 2012

Behind window number 18 there was.

Lucka 18 Stängd

Peppermint Cooling Foot Lotion – 250 ml

Lucka 18 Öppen

I already have a bottle of this foot lotion, and I use it at least once a week.
I try to moisturize my feet everyday before I go to bed. Bu usually I forget. I should put a foot cream visible on the nightstand.
I have four different foot creams, this one, the Peppermint Intense Foot Rescue and the Hemp Foot Protector, all from The Body Shop and then I have a Mineral Foot Cream from Shemen Amour.
I think the one I like the scent best on is the one from Shemen Amour, it smells sweet and almost fruity. while the one I like the least is the Hemp one, so I only use then one when I’m really dry.
Of the peppermint ones I use The Intense Foot Rescue more often than the Cooling  Foot Lotion, simply because I think it smells better. But the cooling foot lotion is the one I massage in after a pedicure.

Window Number 14 – 2012

In the 14:th window there was

Lucka 14 stängd

Almond Conditioning Hand Wash – 250 ml

Lucka 14 Öppen

I’ve actually had one of these in the bathroom for some time now, and it’s really nice. The smell is subtle, just like the hand creams and it feels smooth on your skin and gives a nice lather. It is soap free, usually that means that it’s not as drying as regular soap.
The one in my bathroom is almost empty, so this will come in handy.
I have tried the wild rose one as well and like them both. This has a milder scent so it’s more suitible for men, but the wild rose one has a pretty strong rose scent that might scare them away from using it. But it smells wonderful.
I myself actually prefer the scent of the wild rose series.

Window Number 13 – 2012

Behind the 13:th window we had.

Lucka 13 Stängd

Almond Hand and Nail Cream – 100 ml

Lucka 13 Öppen

I’ve used this hand cream before and I really like it. It moisturizes well and the scent isn’t too strong. I also use this as a cuticle cream.
I have had two small tubes of this and gace one to my mother, the other one is about half empty. I also have the Almond Hand and Nail Butter. But usually I carry a hand cream in my bag. so this one is really nice to have.
I prefer using the wild rose one, but since that’s heavily scented the almond one is better for carrying around.

Window Number 6 – 2012

And the sixth window contains

Lucka 06 Stängd

Peppermint Cooling Foot Spray – 60 ml

Lucka 06 Öppen

I already have this one but in a bigger bottle and I love it.
The peppermint scent is nice and it really is cooling.

You spray this on your feet to refresh them, it feel nice and its simply wonderful during hot summer days or when you’ve been wearing heels for long. The cooling effect can also have a small shrinking effect on swollen feet, but that might just be in my imagination.
Since it’s a spray it’s easy to apply whenever needed. and I usually fit the larger bottle in my bag, this one might even fit in my purse.
But this is a must have for me during the warm summer months and always have a place in my bag.

Ciao

Window Number 1 – 2012

And behind the first window we have

Lucka 01, stängd

Sweet Lemon Hand Cleansing Gel – 60 ml

Lucka 02 Öppen

The product smells like Lemon and Alcohol and has the feeling of any hand cleansing gel I’ve tried.
When it dries however the alcohol scent is gone, leaving the Body Shops classic Sweet Lemon scent behind.

I’ve had one of these in strawberry since the summer.
I think it’s a good hand cleansing gel for when you don’t have access to a sink.

For the scent the Lemon one smells more alcohol than the strawberry one, b ut neither of them leaves the scent of alcohol after it dries.

I love having one of these in my bag.

Winter is Coming – Feet Guide

Picture from Here

Here’s the next part of my Winter is Coming Series.
This Time it’s about Feet

During the winter months your feet aren’t out in the air so much. Shoes and socks are on our feet constantly. This causes the feet to get warm, sweaty and disgusting. I’m not really a fan of feet.
Since your feet are so closed up they can’t really breathe, wich can result in athlete’s foot. So here are some tips to prevent athlete’s foot and keep your feet fresh and callus free.

Prevent Athlete’s Foot

1. Use breathing material.
Materials like cotton and other natural materials allows your feet to breath through the materials.
Also change socks every day. If you sweat alot you can even change twice a day.

2. Inside shoes
Get a pair of inside shoes for your workplace/school. Sandals or other open shoes are good.

3. Wash your feet.
Your feet get’s sweaty in the shoes, that sweat stays on your feet. Wash your feet every night, make sure to wash between the toes. Also make sure your feet are dry
This might sound annoying, but clean feet are healthy feet. And it doesn’t really take that much time.

Remove Calluses

1. Soften feet
Take a nice foot bath with some foot salt and soak your feet to soften the skin before scrubbing.

2. Scrub
Try to avoid the foot file since it’s easy to file on the healthy skin which will just cause more hard skin. Instead go for a foot scrub or buff gently with a pumice stone. If filing is needed, do it carefully. After you scrubed you can soak your feet a bit more.

3. Moisturize
A key step in not getting that hard skin to come back so fast is to keep your feet moisturized. For some people moisturizing is even enought o get rid of it. Massaging in a foot lotion after a foot bath makes the lotion absorb better.

+Tip – Lemon
The acidity in lemons work well against hard skin. Simply rub fresh squezed lemon juice on the hard skin or put some lemon slicec on and let sit for a few hours. Then scrub as usual.

Keeping the Feet Fresh

While all of the above obviously helps keeping your feet freash, here are some extra steps to use if needed.

1. Foot Spray
This is a spray you just spray on your feet. It usually works on tired, warm and – some sprays – even mildly swollen feet

2. Nails
Keep ypur toenails trimmed and clean.

***

Here are some of the products I use.

Foot Bath
Usually I use The Body Shops – Peppermint Reiving Foot Soak
But dead sea salt and/or a little soap works to.

Foot Scrub

Again, usually I use The Body Shops Peppermint Soothimg Pumoce Foot Scrub
And/or a pumice stone.
But body scrubs and exfoliating gloves works to.
I just love the scent of peppermint

Lotion

The body Shop – Cooling Foot Lotion
The Body Shop – Intensive Foot Rescue
The Body Shop – Hemp Foot Protector
Shemen Amour – Mineral Foot Cream
I usually moisturize my feet before going to bed. Wich one I use depends on my mood and what I feel like.
I’f I’m lucky enough to get a footmassage from my wonderful boyfriend I always go for one of the heavier creams since they’ll get massaged in.

Foot Spray

The Body Shop – Peppermint Cooling Foot Spray

This one was in my bag the entire summer. If my feet were getting tired and sweaty I could just sit down on a bench, kick of my shoes and spray this on to cool the feet of and get a fresh boost. I also use this if I get home after a late night with high heels.

That’s all I had on this right now. I f you think I missed anything, let me know.

Winter is Coming – Hand Guide

Picture from Here

I’m continuing my Winter is coming Series with a hand guide.
So here are a few tips on how to take best care of your hands and nails, aswell as some product tips.
Just like the lip post I’ll start with care and then products. But I’ll put them in the same post this time.

Your hands are really exposed to weather, and with smartphones the gloves you use during cold months are taken of all to often because of the touchscreens. So it’s important to take care of your hands. It’s important to take care of the entire body, but hey, this is a hand post.

Care

1. Moisturize
The biggest problem during winter is that your hands get dry. some people get so dry that they even get cracked skin and skin that flakes off.
So it’s important to keep your hands moisturized.
I usually have two moisturizers, one thicker that I use in the evening and one “normal” if I need more during the days.
But don’t overdo it. Don’t moisturize after every wash. Moisturize when you feel that it’s needed. If you over moisturize the skin on yor hands gets used to it and might get even drier.

2. Soap Free Cleanser
Soap is drying for your hand, so invest in a hand wash thats soap free and caring/moisturizing.

3. Dont Forget The Nails
Your nails also need moisture, a good citicle oil or cream can take care of that.

4. Cover
When your outside. Make sure to wear gloves to protect from the cold and the wind.

5.  Nighttime
The nighhours are perfect for extra moisturizing. Get a thicker moisturizer, coat your hands with it and put on a pair of thin cotton gloves to lock the moisturizer onto your hands instead of it going all over your sheets. if you want you can also use plastic gloves or bags.

Products

Moisturizer

The Body ShopWild Rose Hand Cream
The Body Shop –  Almond Hand & Nail Cream
The Body Shop  –Hemp Hand Protector

All Of Them
They all come in aluminium tubes that are easy to carry with you and easy to use. All of them sinks into the skin fast and they are really moisturizing

Pros
Easily absorbed
Nice Packaging
Moisturizes well
Feels really nice on the skin.
A little goes a really long way.

Cons
The first time you open the tube the pressure can push out more product than needed.
The tube can get soggy if you’re not careful.

The Body ShopWild Rose Hand Cream
This one is for Mature skin and can helpagainst color-changes in the skin. It smells like roses but the scent is pretty strong. I dont mind but it’s worth mentioning.

Pros
Smells good.

Cons
Can smell a bit to strong.

The Body Shop –  Almond Hand and Nail Cream
This one is for all skin types. It has a nice scent that’s pretty discreet. I’d recomend this one if you need one for a workplace or such. This one also cares for your nails so you
can massage this on your cuticles to.

Pros
Cares for both Nails and Hands
Smells less than the rose one but still nice

Cons
I don’t know if this is just me, but I feel this one is oilier than the rest so it feels wetter on the hands.

The Body Shop  –Hemp Hand Protector
This one is for dry skin and it’s more moisturizing that the other two. The scent however is not nice, I can’t really eplain it, I just don’t like it. Because of that I rarely use this one.

Pros
Extra moisturizing

Cons
The scent.

DependHandcream Day
Depend – Handcream Night

These are cheaper than The Body Shop Creams but works really good to. The scent is easiest described as handcream and is pretty discreet. I don’t usually like depends products, but I got a sample of the daycream and found it nice, so when I could buy the daycream and get the nightcream for free, I did.

Pros
Moisturizing
Smells discreet but still nice
Feels nice
Quickly absorbed (daycream)

Cons
The Packaging. These kind of tubes are nice but these get really suggy with product.

The Body ShopWild Rose Nourishing Hand Butter
The Body Shop –  Almond Hand & Nail Butter
The Body Shop  –Hemp Intenseive Hand Butter

All Of Them
They all come in tubs. I think the packaging is nice and they are easy to handle. These are more moisturizing than the Hand Creams so I usually use these when I’m in need of more moisture, and i use one of these at night. Wich one depends on what I feel like and how my hands feel. The Almond one is always a part of my manicure routine though. These linger on the skin for a while so they are not suitable if your in a hurry.

Pros
Nice Packaging
Moisturizes well
Feels really nice on the skin. (even more than the creams
A little goes a really long way.
Easy tubs to open/close.

Cons
As always with tubs, they can get disgusting since dust, hair and other things can stick to the creams when the lid is off

The Body ShopWild Rose Nourishing Hand Butter
This one as well as the cream is for Mature skin and can help against color-changes in the skin. It smells like the hand cream, maybe slightly stronger.

Pros
Smells good.

Cons
Can smell a bit to strong.

The Body Shop –  Almond Hand and Nail Butter
This one is for all skin types. It smells like the Cream and also treats the citicles and nails as well as the hands.

Pros
Cares for both Nails and Hands
Smells less than the rose one but still nice

Cons
I think this ine can feel to runny somtimes, depending on the temperature in the room

The Body Shop  –Hemp Intensive Hand Butter
As well as the cream it’s for dry skin and is more moisturizing than the others. But it still has that same smell. I usually use this one as a night treatment once a week.

Pros
Extra moisturizing

Cons
The scent.

Cleanser

The Body Shop Wild Rose Caring Hand Wash
The Body Shop  Almond Conditioning Hand Wash

Not much to say about these individually, They smell like the other products from the same range, slightly weaker rose scent.
These work really good, they lather nicely and feel caring. I love the twist packaging though, you don’t have to pump out products to close the pumps, you just twist.

Pros
Soap Free
Cleans well
Feels Caring
Smells good.

Cons
Don’t have any

Nails

Rosebud Perfume Co – Rosebud Salve
Depend Avocado Cuticle Oil

And Lastly products for the nails.

Rosebud Perfume Co – Rosebud Salve
I normally use this as a lip balm, but I tried it on my cuticles and its nice. i only use ut as a touch up if I’m in a hurry though.

Pros
Smells nice, like Roses
If massaged in it’s not to greasy.
An okay moisturizer
The packaging looks nice

Cons
The tub can be pretty hard to open, espescially with cold hands, and it can get really disgusting.

Depend Avocado Nail Oil
Again a Depend product I like. But I’m still looking for other Cuticle Oils. This comes in a small glas bottle with a dropper in it for easy application. I try using this daily, but normally I only use it one to three times a week. I don’t take the time to massage this in every day since I prefer to massage for a minute on each finger and then massage a cream for a minute on each finger so the products sinks in well.. Sure it’s a total of around 25 minutes each day. But I have a hard time taking the time for it.
But massaging a nail oil on is a great way to care for your nail since it also makes the growing nail stronger. It takes a little while to absorb, but if you massage every finger with the oil and then a cream for a minute each you can just wipe the residue off.

Pros
Easy to apply
A faint neutral scent

Cons
Can rub of on everything if you do something while your nails are greasy.

Well that concludes the Hand Post

Home Spa

Hi everybody.

This post was supposed to be posted yesterday, but i wasn’t done until about 11:30 at night and didn’t feel like blog then.

Yesterday I had a massage scheduled – a friend were to come over to give me a full body massage. So I thought, what bettter day to do a home spa? When you can end it with a nice massage.

I started with coloring my eyebrows and lashes.
Right now I use a product from Coloran for that.

I have  problems with keeping my eyes closed for the time while I do this, so usually I use the brush on the picture and brushes the color on to my lashes, that way I can still move around during the 5-30 minutes the color is on, I do a 30 minutes mix because I rather leave it on longerthan making it really strong.

So I brush it onto my lashes and then a cover my eyebrows, leave it on for 30 minutes and then removes it with warm water and a cotton pad.

I am thinking about buying brown for my eyebrows, but I will keep coloring my lashes black. I’m also thinking about trying other brands of color.

After that  I started with showering and washing my hair so my bathwater wouldnt have all the dirt from my hair in it, then proceeded to filling the bathtub.
After that I put a hair masque in. I used the Macadamia Natural Oil Products. I also put some of the Oil in the masque.

Then I sat down into the tub and just relaxed. I like lighting candles and using bubble bath, bath oil och bath salt. I did none of these because I’m out of them.
I also usually read while taking a bath, now however I have bought this.

This is a MP3 player that goes around your head, it’s waterproof to 3 meters and usable in chlorined water to. The buds on it is for dry use and the ones loose on the table is for use in water.

After being in the tub for about 20-30 minutes I got up and applied a face masque. I used The Body Shops Seaweed Ionic Clay Masque. Sadly I don’t have a picture because my camera is acting up and refuses to focus correctly.

The masque is supposed to be left on for 10 minutes so while I left the masque in I proceeded to shaving, scrubbing and cleaning the rest of the body. Then I rinsed the clay masque of my face and the hair masque out of my hair, conditioned my hair, rinsed and then got out of the tub.

After the bath I plucked my eyebrows, I did take befor ande after pictures of this, but you wont get them, my left eyebrow is exactly the way I want it to be, the right amount of thin, with a sharp angle. My right eyebrow however is a smooth arc with no sharp angle at all. So it looks kind of ridiculous. My fiancé sad he didnät notice so it might just be me, anyway your not getting a picture.

After that I moved on to my nails.

You can ignore the white pollish since I didn’t use it.

I happen to like brown nails, but it can feel so boring sometimes, so I decided to do one nail on each hand golden, I only found my goldne glitter polish, so glitter it is.

The polishes are.

O.P.I Natural Nail Base Coat
E.L.F Chocolate
Depend Gold Glitter
O.P.I Top Coat

Here’s The result.

I took about 40 pictures, this one was the best. Need to get my other camera.

After all of this I just relaxed with some tea and a book. My friend showed ut around 9 to give me the massage and after that I just wanted to sleep.
Anyway this is how a home spa can look for me. I will do another homespa post where I write a little more about how to do a home spa, instead of how I just did one.

Pedicure

Hi!

Today I decided to give myself a small manicure and pedicure today.
So here’s what I did and some pictures. I usually do a larger routine than this. But I’m out of some of my products and just wanted to pamper myself without to much work.

Here are some pictures of my nails on both hands and feet before I painted them.

The nails on my feet are weird. I have no nails what so ever on my pinky-toes and the nails on all the toes except the great toe/hallux/big toe/Ihavenoideawhatthistoeiscalledinenglish tend to fall of very easily. Thats why they look weird.

Here are the products/tools that I used.

So first I just soaked my feet for about 5 minutes then I smoothed the skin ith a file, a pumicestone and the blue thing which is a foot smoother from body shop. The jar contains a scrub.

Then I painted first my toes and then my fingers with;
1 Coat of O.P.I Natural Nail Base Coat
2 Coats of MNY #353
1 Coat O.P.I Top Coat
Finished of with O.P.I Drip Dry Drops

The Result

When I paint my fingernails I’m most comfortable in a French Manicure or a copper polish I really like. But red works to, and if it’s for something special I can paint them to mach what I’m wearing.

However I never paint my toenails, this is the second time I’ve ever done that.
Usually I don’t have so much nail to polish. But I also have a slight back problem which makes fixing my feet and toes something like a living hell for me. crouching my back like that isn’t good at all for me.
But sometimes I do it anyway.

Ciao
