Purple Make-up

Here’s a make up that I did last saturday before going out with some friends.

It had more color shifts in person, the camera made it look sort of flat.

I used purple shades from my palette, together with water and a primer because that’s the only way those shadows works.

Winter is Coming – Feet Guide

Picture from Here

Here’s the next part of my Winter is Coming Series.
This Time it’s about Feet

During the winter months your feet aren’t out in the air so much. Shoes and socks are on our feet constantly. This causes the feet to get warm, sweaty and disgusting. I’m not really a fan of feet.
Since your feet are so closed up they can’t really breathe, wich can result in athlete’s foot. So here are some tips to prevent athlete’s foot and keep your feet fresh and callus free.

Prevent Athlete’s Foot

1. Use breathing material.
Materials like cotton and other natural materials allows your feet to breath through the materials.
Also change socks every day. If you sweat alot you can even change twice a day.

2. Inside shoes
Get a pair of inside shoes for your workplace/school. Sandals or other open shoes are good.

3. Wash your feet.
Your feet get’s sweaty in the shoes, that sweat stays on your feet. Wash your feet every night, make sure to wash between the toes. Also make sure your feet are dry
This might sound annoying, but clean feet are healthy feet. And it doesn’t really take that much time.

Remove Calluses

1. Soften feet
Take a nice foot bath with some foot salt and soak your feet to soften the skin before scrubbing.

2. Scrub
Try to avoid the foot file since it’s easy to file on the healthy skin which will just cause more hard skin. Instead go for a foot scrub or buff gently with a pumice stone. If filing is needed, do it carefully. After you scrubed you can soak your feet a bit more.

3. Moisturize
A key step in not getting that hard skin to come back so fast is to keep your feet moisturized. For some people moisturizing is even enought o get rid of it. Massaging in a foot lotion after a foot bath makes the lotion absorb better.

+Tip – Lemon
The acidity in lemons work well against hard skin. Simply rub fresh squezed lemon juice on the hard skin or put some lemon slicec on and let sit for a few hours. Then scrub as usual.

Keeping the Feet Fresh

While all of the above obviously helps keeping your feet freash, here are some extra steps to use if needed.

1. Foot Spray
This is a spray you just spray on your feet. It usually works on tired, warm and – some sprays – even mildly swollen feet

2. Nails
Keep ypur toenails trimmed and clean.

***

Here are some of the products I use.

Foot Bath
Usually I use The Body Shops – Peppermint Reiving Foot Soak
But dead sea salt and/or a little soap works to.

Foot Scrub

Again, usually I use The Body Shops Peppermint Soothimg Pumoce Foot Scrub
And/or a pumice stone.
But body scrubs and exfoliating gloves works to.
I just love the scent of peppermint

Lotion

The body Shop – Cooling Foot Lotion
The Body Shop – Intensive Foot Rescue
The Body Shop – Hemp Foot Protector
Shemen Amour – Mineral Foot Cream
I usually moisturize my feet before going to bed. Wich one I use depends on my mood and what I feel like.
I’f I’m lucky enough to get a footmassage from my wonderful boyfriend I always go for one of the heavier creams since they’ll get massaged in.

Foot Spray

The Body Shop – Peppermint Cooling Foot Spray

This one was in my bag the entire summer. If my feet were getting tired and sweaty I could just sit down on a bench, kick of my shoes and spray this on to cool the feet of and get a fresh boost. I also use this if I get home after a late night with high heels.

That’s all I had on this right now. I f you think I missed anything, let me know.

Macadamia Natural Oil – Review

Hi.

I thought I’d finally do the review on the Macadamia Natural Oil Products I bought. I already have a First Impression Post on these but now I’ve used them for about 2 months and can do a more wxtended review.

I’ll start with mentioning that I’ve gotten pretty many comments on how nice my hair is, among those comments are “God damnit woman what’s going on with your hair? Smoooooth!” From a friend.

The products I will review now is; Rejuvenating Schampoo, Moisturizing Rinse, Deep Repair Masque, Healin Oil Spray, Healing Oil Treatment, Nourishing Leave In Cream, Reviving Curl Cream and No Tangle Spray.

My usual routine consists of;
In Shower
Rejuvenating Shampoo2 times
Deep Repair MasqueOnce a week
Moisturizing Rinse
After Shower
Nourishing Leave In
Healing Oil Treatment
Touch Ups
Healing Oil Spray

The Reviving Curl Cream I use sometimes when I feel like accentuate my small waves. The No Tangle Spray I rarely use.

But now To the actuall review.’

Rejuvenating Shampoo

The Rejuvenating Shampoo is a color safe shampoo that’s free of sulfates and parabens. The texture is like almost every other shampoo, lite a runny gel formula. but not to runny. I always wash twice with this one, once to  remove the outer layer of dirt and one more time to reach and care for the hair. It almost doesn’t lather at all the first time. Sulfate Free shampoos usually don’t lather as much as sulfate shampoos but the secomd time it lathers nice. I don’t use much product at all. But the amount that needs to be used depends on how dirty and long the hair is, how frizzy it is can count in to.

I think that it works really good. The first few times I used this my hair felt really coarse afterwards and I needed the conditioner to even be able to comb through it. I think however that this was just as the hair got used to a sulfate free Schampoo since it’s much better now. I think that the best way to describe the scent of this shampoo is fruity, my first thought is always honeydew.
Since this is a Sulfate Free shampoo some silicones can be hard to wash out with this only, so you can experienca a silicone build up. This isn’t something that I myself have noticed. But I use a anti dundruff shampoo sometimes that probably takes care of that for me. But even when I haven’t used that for a while I haven’t noticed anything.

The easiest way to use this is to take a really small amount in the hands and rub the palms together then apply it to the hair. Then add a little more and rinse out, then just wash again.

Pros
Color Safe
Sulfate Free
Paraben Free
Smells Delicious
Cleans well without stripping your hair.

Cons
Can make your har feel corse the first few uses.
Can leave some silicons in your hair.

Moisturizing Rinse

This is the conditioner. Just like the shampoo it’s color safe and free of sulfates and parabens. The texture is creamy and pretty firm. The scent on this is harder to explain, but it still smells good. The shampoo smells better according to me.
As a conditioner this works great. As with the shampoo I think a small amount is enough.

I comb through my hair with my fingers or a loose toothet comb before application. I take a small amount in the hand, rub my palms together and combs it through the hair. Then I let it for maybe two minutes before coming through the hair and rinsing it out.

Pros
Makes the hair soft and smooth.
Doesn’t weight the hair down.
Smells good.
Pretty easy to rinse out

Cons
I don’t really have any cons on this conditioner.

Deep Repair Masque

The Deep rapair masque must be the product that smells the absolute best. The texture is a really firm cream and just like the other products, you don’t need much. I use this once a week and it just leaves the hair so soft and smooth. I seriously can’t stop touching my hair. The instruction says to leave this in for 7 minutes. I leave it for as long as i feel like, usually during the time I scrub and wash my body and shaves my legs. If I bathe I wash my hair and put this in before. so then it might be 15-60 minutes depending on the lenght of the bath.

I apply this just like the conditioner. Small amount on the hands, rub the palms together and comb it through.

Pros
Works wonders
Smells wonderful.
Leaves the hair smelling awesome.

Cons
Non at all

Healing Spray Oil
and Healing Oil Treatment.

Since these are basically the same product I’ll review these together. The Spray Oil is a little lighter than the Pump Oil but the functions are about the same. These smell good to, a little more spicy than sweet. I like these oils. They are easily absorbed and don’t leave a greasy residue on the hair if you don’t use to much.  I usully use the Healing Oil Treatment on wet hair and The Healing spray Oil on dry hair as an extra boost if needed and after styling. After I apply the Healing oil treatment though I always need to wash my hands to get the oil of my hands. Not really a problem, but can be if you have dry hands or are in a hurry.

I apply the Pump Oil just like the conditioner and Masque. The spray oil I usually spray directly on the hair and combs through with a boar bristle brush.

Pros
Leaves hair smelling good
Leaves hair smooth and soft
Leaves hair shiny
Easily absorbed

Cons
Can leave the hair greasy if you use to much.
Needs soap to wash of hands

Nourishing Leave-In Cream

Now we’re back to the sweet smells. This has a cream texture and as the other products. A little goes a long way. you need about a pea-sized amount every time. It applies easily and don’t leave a residue. If you use to much it will leave a residue, but thats obvious.
I usually use this with the Healing Oil Treatment, but I’ve used them both seperatly and like it either way. I think this cream is the reason my hair keeps so straight.

I apply it like the oil, and usually I apply this before the oil. Don’t know why, I just prefer it that way.

Pros
Smells great.
Leaves the hair smooth.

Cons
It’s pretty easy to take to much.

Reviving Curl Cream

I havent used this one a lot. Only a few times. But the times I used it I liked it. I actually have it in my hair now It smells wonderful and the texture is creamy. Again you only need about the size of a pea and if you take to much of this your curls can get a bit stiff. When I use this I use it on wet hair with the Healing Oil Treatment or alone and I spray on the Healing Spray Oil after my hair dries.
I get small and messy hair by this, sort of a messy bed head/seducing hair.

I apply this like the Nourishing Leave-In and after I applied it i either just squeeze my hair into curls or I put it up in a really messy bun with hairpins. And if needed I pull my fingers through the hair. Never a comb or brush.

Pros
Gives a curl boost that’s nice.
Gives soft smooth curls
Smells good

Cons
Can make curls stiff

No Tangle Pre-tyler

This is the product I’ve used the less. I don’t need it on my self. I tried this on my younger brother with the No tangle brush though. And he was able to keep playing his video game while I combed through the dread like mess on the back of his head. Wheather that was this, the brush or the combination I don’t know.  This has a cream like texture which in combination with the spray bottle just seems weird. I have however not had any problems spraying with it. I think this one is kind of unnecessary in use with the other products.
I feel it’s to early for a Pro and Con on this one though.

Well so overall I can say that I love this product range. Right now I don’t want to use anything else. I’m completely sold.
I would and will absolutely repurchase this. Next time I’ll order the big packages. Both me and my hair loves these product range.

I’m dying to try out Flawless to since I feel that that would be wonderful to have in my gym-bag and if I’m in a real hurry. Sadly I don’t think I’ll be able to afford it in a while given christmas and that I’m running out of the other products. I also need new eyeshadows. But I hope I’ll be able to try it as soon as possible.

TheBodyShop – Christmas Scents

The Body Shops Christmas scents are in store now and with the coupons I got with the last print they sent out I took the chance to get some of the seasons products. Here’s what I got.

I got things from Vanilla Bliss and Cranberry Joy

Vanilla Bliss
Shower Gel – 60 ml
Body Butter – 50 ml
Bath Crystals – 300 g
Bath Lily

I’m not usually a fan of vanilla scented products, they usually smell so much that I get a headache. This one however was really mild when smelled it in the store so I took a chance and bought a small kit with shower gel and Body Butter and also bought the bath crystals.
I liked the scent, it smells vanilla but not to strong. Just enough.

I actually tried these tonight right before writing this post. My bath lasted for about 5 minutes though, so I’ll write about the feeling of the bath crystals when I tried them more. But the shower gel and body butter was as nice as usually.

Cranberry Joy

Bar Soap – 40 g
Body Butter – 50 ml
Shower Gel – 250 ml
Body Polish – 75 ml

The first thing I have to say is that I love the packaging this year. That snowcovered cranberry is simple and beautiful.
I like the scent of these in the bottle, tub and tube. Haven’t tried them yet, so I’ll update when I do. But the scent is sharp and fruity. For me Cranberry isn’t a part of christmas, but the scent is wonderful. I really look forward to trying these. Don’t think I’ll use the bar soap though. Usually don’t.

As to the christmas products they have a third range Ginger Sparkle, I don’t usually reach for ginger scented products mostly because my fiance don’t really like the scent, so I didn’t buy this one. I did however smell it and it smelled nice. I am however going to buy the christmas calendar and who knows, maybe there’ll be a sample of Ginger Sparkle in there.
I might buy a small kit of this to try if I have money left after buying christmas presents, food and everything else christmas’y.

But I’ll give you better reviews on Vanilla Bliss and Cranberry Joy when I tried them more.

Cupcake Nails

I were taking care of my nails today and were thinking about making them red. But my friend Miranda wanted me to do cupcake nails. So here they are. This is before i removed excess polish from my fingers.

I decided to show both mmy left and right hand. Usually I fail on my right hand, but I’m pretty hapy with these.
The purple polishes, the bue and the bright pink one are Depend Polishes and the white and light pink  ar from E.L.F
The basecoat is from O.P.I and then I used first O.P.I Top coat  then Seche Vite Fast drying Top Coat.

I usually don’t do nail art on myself. So we’ll see how long this gets to stay on.

Winter is Coming – Hand Guide

Picture from Here

I’m continuing my Winter is coming Series with a hand guide.
So here are a few tips on how to take best care of your hands and nails, aswell as some product tips.
Just like the lip post I’ll start with care and then products. But I’ll put them in the same post this time.

Your hands are really exposed to weather, and with smartphones the gloves you use during cold months are taken of all to often because of the touchscreens. So it’s important to take care of your hands. It’s important to take care of the entire body, but hey, this is a hand post.

Care

1. Moisturize
The biggest problem during winter is that your hands get dry. some people get so dry that they even get cracked skin and skin that flakes off.
So it’s important to keep your hands moisturized.
I usually have two moisturizers, one thicker that I use in the evening and one “normal” if I need more during the days.
But don’t overdo it. Don’t moisturize after every wash. Moisturize when you feel that it’s needed. If you over moisturize the skin on yor hands gets used to it and might get even drier.

2. Soap Free Cleanser
Soap is drying for your hand, so invest in a hand wash thats soap free and caring/moisturizing.

3. Dont Forget The Nails
Your nails also need moisture, a good citicle oil or cream can take care of that.

4. Cover
When your outside. Make sure to wear gloves to protect from the cold and the wind.

5.  Nighttime
The nighhours are perfect for extra moisturizing. Get a thicker moisturizer, coat your hands with it and put on a pair of thin cotton gloves to lock the moisturizer onto your hands instead of it going all over your sheets. if you want you can also use plastic gloves or bags.

Products

Moisturizer

The Body ShopWild Rose Hand Cream
The Body Shop –  Almond Hand & Nail Cream
The Body Shop  –Hemp Hand Protector

All Of Them
They all come in aluminium tubes that are easy to carry with you and easy to use. All of them sinks into the skin fast and they are really moisturizing

Pros
Easily absorbed
Nice Packaging
Moisturizes well
Feels really nice on the skin.
A little goes a really long way.

Cons
The first time you open the tube the pressure can push out more product than needed.
The tube can get soggy if you’re not careful.

The Body ShopWild Rose Hand Cream
This one is for Mature skin and can helpagainst color-changes in the skin. It smells like roses but the scent is pretty strong. I dont mind but it’s worth mentioning.

Pros
Smells good.

Cons
Can smell a bit to strong.

The Body Shop –  Almond Hand and Nail Cream
This one is for all skin types. It has a nice scent that’s pretty discreet. I’d recomend this one if you need one for a workplace or such. This one also cares for your nails so you
can massage this on your cuticles to.

Pros
Cares for both Nails and Hands
Smells less than the rose one but still nice

Cons
I don’t know if this is just me, but I feel this one is oilier than the rest so it feels wetter on the hands.

The Body Shop  –Hemp Hand Protector
This one is for dry skin and it’s more moisturizing that the other two. The scent however is not nice, I can’t really eplain it, I just don’t like it. Because of that I rarely use this one.

Pros
Extra moisturizing

Cons
The scent.

DependHandcream Day
Depend – Handcream Night

These are cheaper than The Body Shop Creams but works really good to. The scent is easiest described as handcream and is pretty discreet. I don’t usually like depends products, but I got a sample of the daycream and found it nice, so when I could buy the daycream and get the nightcream for free, I did.

Pros
Moisturizing
Smells discreet but still nice
Feels nice
Quickly absorbed (daycream)

Cons
The Packaging. These kind of tubes are nice but these get really suggy with product.

The Body ShopWild Rose Nourishing Hand Butter
The Body Shop –  Almond Hand & Nail Butter
The Body Shop  –Hemp Intenseive Hand Butter

All Of Them
They all come in tubs. I think the packaging is nice and they are easy to handle. These are more moisturizing than the Hand Creams so I usually use these when I’m in need of more moisture, and i use one of these at night. Wich one depends on what I feel like and how my hands feel. The Almond one is always a part of my manicure routine though. These linger on the skin for a while so they are not suitable if your in a hurry.

Pros
Nice Packaging
Moisturizes well
Feels really nice on the skin. (even more than the creams
A little goes a really long way.
Easy tubs to open/close.

Cons
As always with tubs, they can get disgusting since dust, hair and other things can stick to the creams when the lid is off

The Body ShopWild Rose Nourishing Hand Butter
This one as well as the cream is for Mature skin and can help against color-changes in the skin. It smells like the hand cream, maybe slightly stronger.

Pros
Smells good.

Cons
Can smell a bit to strong.

The Body Shop –  Almond Hand and Nail Butter
This one is for all skin types. It smells like the Cream and also treats the citicles and nails as well as the hands.

Pros
Cares for both Nails and Hands
Smells less than the rose one but still nice

Cons
I think this ine can feel to runny somtimes, depending on the temperature in the room

The Body Shop  –Hemp Intensive Hand Butter
As well as the cream it’s for dry skin and is more moisturizing than the others. But it still has that same smell. I usually use this one as a night treatment once a week.

Pros
Extra moisturizing

Cons
The scent.

Cleanser

The Body Shop Wild Rose Caring Hand Wash
The Body Shop  Almond Conditioning Hand Wash

Not much to say about these individually, They smell like the other products from the same range, slightly weaker rose scent.
These work really good, they lather nicely and feel caring. I love the twist packaging though, you don’t have to pump out products to close the pumps, you just twist.

Pros
Soap Free
Cleans well
Feels Caring
Smells good.

Cons
Don’t have any

Nails

Rosebud Perfume Co – Rosebud Salve
Depend Avocado Cuticle Oil

And Lastly products for the nails.

Rosebud Perfume Co – Rosebud Salve
I normally use this as a lip balm, but I tried it on my cuticles and its nice. i only use ut as a touch up if I’m in a hurry though.

Pros
Smells nice, like Roses
If massaged in it’s not to greasy.
An okay moisturizer
The packaging looks nice

Cons
The tub can be pretty hard to open, espescially with cold hands, and it can get really disgusting.

Depend Avocado Nail Oil
Again a Depend product I like. But I’m still looking for other Cuticle Oils. This comes in a small glas bottle with a dropper in it for easy application. I try using this daily, but normally I only use it one to three times a week. I don’t take the time to massage this in every day since I prefer to massage for a minute on each finger and then massage a cream for a minute on each finger so the products sinks in well.. Sure it’s a total of around 25 minutes each day. But I have a hard time taking the time for it.
But massaging a nail oil on is a great way to care for your nail since it also makes the growing nail stronger. It takes a little while to absorb, but if you massage every finger with the oil and then a cream for a minute each you can just wipe the residue off.

Pros
Easy to apply
A faint neutral scent

Cons
Can rub of on everything if you do something while your nails are greasy.

Well that concludes the Hand Post
