Halloween Makeups

Here we have pictures of some of the halloween makeups I’ve done. Aside from these I made a few skull faces and a clown, but those were just quick and sloppy so I’m choosing not to upload those. I have two from friday and to from saturday. I had a scull face on friday but I don’t think it turned out good enough to upload.

I’ll start with the friday make ups. They are on the bloody/scary side.

Burn victimMy friend Sonny

This one is made with liquid latex, cotton, theater make up and fake blood.
This one was pretty quick actually. The most time consuming was waiting for the latex to dry,

Then we have a Zipper Zombie – My Friend Patrik

This is my personal favorite from friday.

Made with liquid latex, theater make up, fake blood, foundation, concealer and obviously a zipper.
The make up part was quick but blending the zipper took time. Sadly we couldn’t get a white zipper, so it was really hard to blend, that’s why it’s not completely blended in.

And now we have the Saturdays make ups.
I didn’t have time to take these pictures before I went to the party, so this was shot about 7 hours after I made the make up.

The Joker – My Fiancé Jonas

Made with theater make up and green spray hair paint. I were going to do latex scars, but didn’t have the time,

The Joker make up is supposed to be a bit smuged, so that was just good.
He had green in his hair but that didn’t eally show on the picture.
Sadly I didn’t have time to do the scars since I was late so I didn’t start doing our make ups until 5 minutes before we were supposed to get picked up. And I really need to get my hands on some rigid collodion if I’m going to make some sort of scars next year.

Harley Quinn – Myself

Mak with just regular make up. The red eyeshadow however is from Kryolan and super pigmented.

I didn’t have the money for a proper costume or the time to sew one, so I omprovised with red tigghts, black shorts and a red and black corset. Sadly with plastic instead of metal.
My make up is also done quickly and my lipstick is really faded on these.
I spent about an hour and a half on trying to get my hair up to look like the hat she has. But then I decided to just do pigtails. I tried with hairspray, hairgel and sugarwater. So my hair is a bit tired right now.

Well that’s what I have now. I might do more this week depending on time, ideas and parties next weekend.
But tonight I’ll have a me day to give my hair and face some care after all the hairspray, heat and heavy make up.

Winter is coming – Lip Guide Part 2, Products

Winter is coming – Lip guide Part 1, Care

Picture from Here

Here is the second part of my Winter is coming – Lip Guide
This time I will talk about products.

During winter it’s important to take good care of your lips.
Here are some products and home remedies to keep your lips soft.

1. Exfoliate

Scrubing your lips removes dead skin so that your moisturizer can reach better.

I have actually only tried one exfoliating products for my lips

The Body Shop Lip Scuff
This one smells like sweet-mint and have small grains in it to exfoliate. I use this 2-3 times a week and I really like it, it’s gentle but it sill does what it says.
I usually just sort of buff this on my lips in small circular motions and then leave it for a few minutes before I rinse it of. I put it on when I start my nightly facial routine and remove it at the end of my routime.
I would recomend this product. but I want to try other lip scrubs to.

Home Remedies

Honey and sugar scrub.
This is really simple, you take a little bit of honey and just add sugar until you get a nice paste, scrub your lips with it and leave on for a couple of minutes. The honey acts moisturizing while the sugar exfoliates.

Personally I don’t like thiis one, but I have a mayor problem with sticky on my lips. I can barely have lip gloss.
But I have done this a few tomes and it works.

2. Moisturize

Here are my review on some product. And a warning in the end.

The Body Shop – Sweet Lemon Lip Butter

I bought this one somewhere in December last year. I’d gotten a coconut lip balm in my Body Shop Calendar, and I really don’t like coconut. So I gave that one to a friend and bought this one for myself. I wanted to get the Pink Grapefruit one, but they were out. So I’ll buy it some other day.

A good moisturizer
Not to sticky
Nice Lemon Scent.

The Taste. It has a sweet taste. It’s not horrible, but I’m not a big fan of it.
Tub. I almost only have lip balms in tubs, I acctually don’t mind, but it can get pretty disgusting to put your fingers in it over and over again. I usually carry hand-sanitizer, that I use before. But still.

Försvarets Hudsalva

I don’t really know how I should translate the name. But it’s a salve made by and originally for the swedish military to treat chafing. Normally it comes in a military green tube, but I prefer buying the pink one since it looks better in my bag, and it’s easier to find. They have a pink ribbon one to, I just haven’t gotten my hands on that one yet. The smell is said to be vanilla, but I think it’s really neutral.
You can literally use this for everything. Dry elbows/feet/lips, chafing. Rub it on your face to prevent frostbite. You can even cook in it, but I’ve never tried that. I’ve only tried it for my lips though.

Really good moisturizer
Easy application.
Many uses.
The smell is discreet.
The packaging. This is easy to use even with gloves on.

Cons I only have one con, but its really worth mentioning.
Peanut Oil – I do not understand how something thats developed for military use contains peanut oil. Peanuts are the most common allergenic agent. I myself is not allergic to peanuts, but I still think that the fact is really annoying.

Overall I really like this product. But usually this is my night treatment. During the days i use my other products.

Rosebud Perfume Co – Strawberry Lip Balm, Minted Rose Lip Balm and Rosebud Salve

I have used the minted rose one off ad on for a few years and the others for about a month. I love these. The strawberry one however is a litle less moisturizing, but I don’t really mind

Works like a charm.
These tubs litterally lasts forever
The Scents. I love the smell of these. Not to artificial, even though it’s strawberry we’re talking about.
The tubs. I could have gotten the strawberry and the rose one in tubes, but I love the look of these tubs. Might get the tubes for the winter though, since they are glove friendly.
Slightly glossy For a girl who’s not a fan of lip gloss. This is wonderfull.

If you put on to much it gets thick and sticky.
If you keep them in your pocket they get really soft.

Overall these will always have a place in my heart and in my bag.
They have a mocha rose lip balm that I’m dying to try. I’ve heard it’s a bit chocolate, vanilla, coffee scented. But I havenät had the chance since I couldn’t find it where I live.

The Body Shop – 100% Natural Lip Roll On, Mint

I don’t know if it’s me or this product, but I never really fell in love with it. I love the packaging and the roll on applicator, but the product doesn’t really give me anything. I probably wont use much until next year since this feels more like a summer product. That might just be my opinion because it’s an oil and not a balm, so it feels thinner. Really love the smell of mint and it fells slightly tingly and cooling on my lips. I might change my mind on this one if I use it for a long time, but it’s not a product I reach for. It might be because I always forget to shake it.

Smart Applicator
Nice smell
Nice feeling

Doesn’t feel like it’s working

They have this one in other scents, so I might try that to see if I like those better. Because this is really a product that I want to love due to the 100% Natural part. so rose and orange are the other scents I’d like to try.

Now to my warning.

This is a Swedich product that was createt in the begining of the 1900 and are now sold worldwide I think. (I have absolutely nothing against the company who makes them, btw)

I don’t usually hate products, I can often loathe them, but not hate. But this one, is on my hate list.
I have nothing good to say about this product. It works for the moment for about 30 minutes, the, your lips are drier than before and you need more and more of this product to get through the day.

To the products defence and to clarify my long hatred for this one. That’s how I felt about this product when I last used it, when I was around 10 years old. But since then I’d rather go without lip balms than use this one. So maybe I should buy one and try it out to see what I think now. But that’s probably not going to happen.

Well. That was the second part of my Winter is Coming – Lip Guide

I’m thinking of doing more winter is coming posts, about hair, body and face. Is that anything that would interest my readers? In that case, what parts would you want? Leave a comment.

Tomorrow and on saturday I’m going to two halloween parties. So I’ll have some halloween make ups to show you after that. Hopefully the guys I’m going to help with their make up will let me post pictures of them to.

Please comment if there’s anything especial you want me to write about.

Empty – Strawberry Body Butter

I have finally emptied one of my Body Butters from The Body Shop. My Strawberry Body Butter.

I like the smell of this one and it feels really nice on the skin. I don’t even know when i got this one, but since I have a few I tend to switch often.

Sorry for the cellphone picture but I’ve gone away for a while and didn’t bring my computer. I took a few pictures with my phone before I left, so I’d still be able to update a little.

My current facial masks

As the title says this id a post about my facial masks.

My skin is normal, it’s not dry neither oily it doesn’t break out a lot and isn’t red.

So I actually don’t need a mask that often, I use them more for the luxurious and relaxing feeling of it when I take a bath sometimes.

I currently have three masks

The Body Shop Seaweed Ionic Clay Mask
The Body Shop Warming Mineral Mask
Formula 10.0.6 Deep Down Detox Ultra-Cleansing Mud Mask

The Body Shop Seaweed Ionic Clay Mask

This is the one I use the least.
This one is for combination/oily skin.
If the skin on my face is oily I use this, that’s about it. I think it’s a good mask and it cleanses pretty good – it is a deep cleansing mask.
However this mask can sting on the parts of your face where you have problems like break out and such, for me this one sting mostly around my nose since that’s the most prroblematic part of my face. I have no problems with mask that you get a burning/stingy feeling though. I just think it’s proof that it cleans.
I would recomend this mask, but only if you have oily skin, it’s a bit to drying for my normal skin and if you have dry skin don’t use this one!
It smells sort of rough, I only think of salt water when I smell it, I guess that’s because of the seaweed. It’s that sharp ocean smell you get when you get close to a beach or a harbour with lots of seaweed drying  in the sun, just without the sun smell. I don’t really like the scent and that’s another reason to why I don’t use it. It just doesn’t smell good for me, wich is weird because I love the smell of harbours and beaches.
The texture of this one is like clay, it’s pretty hard. wich I actually don’t like in masks, i think the should be easy to put on the face an just glide on.
This mask dries in about 10-20 minutes when you’ve applied it to your face. I usually leaves it on until it’s dry and then wash it of.

The Body Shop Warming Mineral Mask

Now this one I actually really like. I try to use it once a week, but usually I use it once or twice every month instead. It’s a deep cleansing mask and it contains kaolin clay, and when you rub it on your face the cirkulations of the mask makes it warming which I think feels so luxourious.
This one also cleanses good while feeling so good on your skin, it’s smooth and warm and ut doesn’t dry. Whenever I feel like treating my face to something, this is what I use.
It smells like eucalyptus and the texture is smooth. Allthough sometimes I feel this one is too runny.
It’s for all skin types and I really recomend this one. And for an extra boost of anti oxidants and I lovely chocolate smell, mix it with some cacao powder in a small bowl or your hans before applying it to your face.

Formula 10.0.6 Deep Down Detox Ultra-Cleansing Mud Mask

This is the one I use the most. I use this between 1-3 times every week as a part of my nightly skin care routine. Its a cleaning mud mask that dries in about 10-15 minutes.
It smells like oranges and bergamott, mostly oranges acording to me. It smells really good.
The texture is just like I want it somewhere between the other two. It glides on smooth but it’s still a firm paste.
I would recomend this to everybody. It’s a really nice mask.

So all the masks I have are deep cleansing.
What I really need is a moisturizing mask.

Does anyone have any tips on good moisturizing masks?
Preferably powder masks, but not necessarily.

I love comments. They make me happy!

Essie Really Red

As i mentioned yesterday I bought two new polishes.

Firstly we have a picture of the polishes

Licorice and Really Red

I painted my nails with really red today, the first thing i noticed was how wide the brush is.

The brush is about the same size as Isadora’s Nail polish brushes. Slightly bigger than O.P.I’s
And I must say, I’m not a huge fan of wide brushes. Usually because the only nail were I dont hit the skin outside the nail on is the thum. I think it’s just a matter of getting used to it. I have however always hated wide brushes when I’m painting my pinky.

Now over to the polish.

It’s like every other polish, maybe slightly runnier in the texture but not too runny.
It was pretty easy to paint on the nail and covered fine in two layers. I used three however.

Here’s the result

As a first impression I like this polish, but I’ll have to give it time too see how it stays.

Nailpolishes – Essie

I bought two new nailpolishes today.

They are Essie Polishes in the colour Licorice and Really Red

Sadly I can only give you stockphotos since my stupid little compact camera still won’t cooperate with me.
The pictures are from Essies website

I will redo my nails tomorrow with the red one and give you pictures.

My mom is bringing me back my beloved system camera. It’s really theirs but they never use it. As long as I live in the same town as them and return (lend) it to them when they need it, it’s sort of my camera. But I’m going to save up to buy one of my own.

I’ll try to do a look tomorrow to, but I’m not sure about how much time I’ll have, so that might not be done until late.

I know I’m slow on updating, I haven’t really had access to my make up. My fiancé has been sleeping until around 8 p.m. and I don’t want to disturb him by turning the lights on and doing my make up.

Also. I really like that people like my posts and follows my blog. But it would be awesome if you could comment to. I feel more motivated when people comment. And don’t hesitate to comment about something you’d like to see a look or a review on. Tips on what I can do are always welcome.

Love you forever.

Winter is coming – Lip Guide Part 1, Care

Picture from Here

Well since winter is coming I’d like to give a few lipcare tops to keep them kissable and soft during the cold months.
There will be a part 2 of this post with products and home remedies in a couple of days.
I live in Sweden, so obviously I ride polar bears wherever I go and nothing is ever closed due to snow – One of those is true, you can guess which one (the polar bears of course)

Where I live, the temprature during winter is cold. Usually it’s below -20 Celsius and there’s to many days when it’s somewhere around -30 to -35. So lipcare is pretty important. So here are some steps to keep your lips cold proof and smooth.

1. Exfoliate
Scrubbing your lips is a great way to remove dead and dry skin so that your lip moisturizer reaches the lips properly.

2. Moisturize
Moisturizing your lips is the best way to keep them smooth and nice.

3. Don’t Lick Them!
While licking your lips when they are dry might feel like it helts, it actually does more damage to your lips. Especially when it’s cold outside.
Ice lips? No thank you!

4. Cover
when you go outside, use a scarf or something to protect your face and lips from the cold and wind.

and of course,

5. Test your lips
When you think you’ve gotten the moist and smooth lips you want, or if you think they are to dry, always get them tested. And how do you do that? You kiss someone of course. Find a cute guy or girl and kiss them to see if your lips are kissable ;P
(While saliva can damage the lips, who the heck cares now?)
